Emotional and powerful photography by Alexandra Leese
Traveling between London and Hong Kong, photographer Alexandra Leese taps into her roots and travels for inspiration. Alexandra has made a name for herself as a fashion and portrait photographer but began making art as a painter. Originally taking photos of subjects to paint, however, Leese’s tutor discovered her photography and would go on to help Leese develop this new medium of creativity to express herself.
Alexandra’s style of bright lighting and use of textures and colors has lead to many opportunities working for brands like GQ, i-D, and Vogue. While these aspects of Leese’s works are important to her style what’s more important is her use of subjects. Using her background in painting Alexandra is able to position her subjects in various manners, twisting and turning with elegance for an emotionally heightened viewing experience.
