Looking at JardinOne’s work is about as refreshing as it can get when it comes to looking at contemporary artists work on the gram. One scroll through his feed and you automatically know what the dude’s work is about. Filled with bright colors and recognizable figures and characters, along with a painting style that screams “I’m fresh bitch!”, it’s easy to fall in love with his work at a glance. But take a longer look at his paintings and I’m sure you will fall in love with them even more. The way he breaks the characters down to their basic forms is nearly minimalistic, but then adding another signature touch of his by stacking some messy painted and scratched in features on top of the minimalistic forms brings the work to life even more than it already was. Let’s not forget to mention the colors that also bring his works to life, he knows what colors to use and when to use them to give this already pop-inspired art a feeling of euphoria and awe.
Having a conversation with JardinOne is no different than looking at his work. In fact, looking at his work pretty much reflects his personality. Every conversation I have had with him has been fun and his responses keep me going back to see what clever shit he is going to come up with next time.
Overall, JardineOne is a genius. I am constantly looking forward to seeing what masterpiece he will be uploading next on his Instagram and I have yet to be disappointed by him and his work. He is able to take form, color, and subject and turn it into his own signature style that stands out from everyone else in the contemporary art game. Avante-Garde? Maybe. I prefer to call it Mini-Pop.
