Mauro C Martinez and Flatlines Gallery Presents “Painting is just slow memes” a solo show
Mauro C Martinez is a contemporary artist based in San Antonio Texas and is presenting his latest solo show titled “Painting is just slow memes.” As the title of the show suggest Martinez is fond of memes if that was not obvious enough after seeing his works and Instagram page. His often satirical and dark works of art poke fun at internet culture, social norms, and much more. The most used style in his work is the way he paints blurred out images. The way he achieves this style is by painting directly on the canvas with an airbrush, he then goes back and paints with acrylic ontop for different splatter effects.
