Fitting a square peg into a round hole with Aashti Miller
Aashti Miller is an architect, designer, and illustrator born and raised in Mumbai India where she currently is based. Graduating from Cornell University with a degree in architecture, she then began working at Pickard Chilton before moving back to Mumbai in 2019 to start her own Graphics Design studio MillerInk Graphics.
One of her current series of Illustrations she has recently shared on Instagram caught our eye. In this series, Miller is literally fitting a square peg into a round hole. She details the process and how it relates to her own life in this caption she shared. “I draw these as a continuous long rectangular panel, dividing this into 4 pieces, and then I delete out peripheral parts of the drawing to create an imperfect circle. It doesn’t always work until it does. To be honest, this is how I’ve always felt in life – trying to fit in but never quite getting it right. I’m also not sure that anyone feels that they fit in anywhere.” – Aashti Miller (Via Instagram)
