A meditative experience with photographer Alessia Morellini
Life moves fast, especially in the twenty-first century, and with so much going on around us it can be hard to focus. It’s often a good idea to slow down, breathe, and enjoy the moment, focus on the little details and moments of life. One artist who is able to slow down the world and bring you into an experience is self-taught photographer Alessia Morellini.
Now based in the city of Modena, Italy, Alessia began to use photography while attending university to capture the beauty and solitary environment of the Po Valley. Growing fascinated by the familiar aspects of her surroundings and objects, Morellini began to showcase a penchant for the decontextualization of details. Taking these details and isolating them as the focal point of the work is how Alessia is about to compose such a meditative image. Slowing down the world around us and focusing on the minor details that create the beauty of the world around us, it’s a process we could all practice in our own lives once in a while.
