Matt Stevens converts movies into remarkable vintage style book covers

Top-notch cinema meets vintage graphic design with Matt Stevens’s newest project, “Good Movies as Old Books.” In this project, Stevens creates artistically pleasing, diverse, and increasingly unique movie posters. Inspired by the styles of vintage books and their always intriguing covers, Steven’s decided to reimagine some of his favorite movies as if they were books.

Matt makes it clear this is not a “top movies” list but however a collection of his favorite movies. Some of our personal favorite films from the list include Nightcrawler, Ex Machina, Gladiator, and of course Parasite. These covers are illustrated in a very minimalist style but do an incredible job at representing and foreshadowing the events in the films they showcase.

Movie and book fans online fell in love with the “Good Movies as Old Books” project, which gave Stevens inspiration to continue adding works. He has now reached his goal of 100 covers made and has compiled them into a beautiful photo booklet. You can view more of his works on his studio’s website or purchase the book or individual prints of your favorite movies.
