About Katharina Windorfer I studied art history in three German cities, Hamburg, Freiburg and Düsseldorf. With every city, my love for the study grew. In the end, it was so huge, that I decided to make a PhD in art history. I finished it when my daughter was one year old. Having her was the best inspiration. In my studies, I concentrated on women and art: the performances of the Italian artist Gina Pane, the portraits of women through all time and then going back to the Medieval Age, the images of nuns and laywomen together with the Virgin Mary in illuminated manuscripts. Actually, I am writing for the blog ArtHistories . Here you find artstories circling around women and children.
