Mysterious and dream-like illustrations, a look at Victor Mosquera

Victor Mosquera is fueled by a passion for art and a strong work ethic. Starting in Colombia Victor didn’t have much money for buying art supplies regularly. He was able to get his hands on an old computer and a copy of photoshop, this opened up many doors for the young artist. No longer restrained by the number of art supplies on hand he could create as many works as he wanted. Looking to find a job that involved his passion for creating he turned his focus to concept design for video games.

Years later Victor landed a job with a video games company that brought him to Canada. While the job was great, and what he had dreamed of, Mosquera realized video games were not his passion. He loved making art but not the art for others, he wanted to create works in his own style and tell his stories. After work each day he would go home and do just that and with the help of social media was able to grow a following and start doing work for clients that wanted him for his style and his vision as an artist.

Mosquera’s works are beautifully done illustrations full of imagination and mystery. His works often incorporate a color palette of sandy earth tone colors that are contrasted with colorful subjects, objects, and mask. These works appear like dreams, for me, they are dreams of a nomad wandering through the desert looking for some kind of lost advanced civilization. It was this unique style that allowed Victor to leave his day job and focus on his dreams full time. We can all look toward Victor as an example of what it means to put your passion above money and find the balance that lets you live a joyful life. “My entire goal is to bring joy to people,” says the Colombian artist. “If there’s someone tired, coming back from work on the bus, scrolling through Instagram, and they see something from me, hopefully, it will make their day better.” – Victor Mosquera (Via https://creativecloud.adobe.com )
