Zhong Lin creates one magical photograph each day for a whole year in ‘Project 365’
For everyone around the world, the pandemic pushed us inside. Some got new hobbies, some sparked back up old ones, but for photographer Zhong Lin it was about starting fresh. Taking her photographs and stripping back the process, and rediscovering her creativity. To do so she began to make one new photo each day for a year, the project was titled appropriately “Project 365.” The project began on April 23rd, 2020 and Lin has now made it to the 365th day. However, that does not mean the project will end, Zhong will continue to make these beautiful and cinematic-like images with just a bit more rest along the way.
Project 365 has pushed Zhong not only to make works but to push the boundaries. Always changing up angles and perspectives to tap deeper into her creative process. This has allowed Lin to create some of her most surreal and mind-bending works yet. “I want to rediscover what it means to start from nothing. No Limits, No Boundaries and No Definition. “ said Lin in her very first post about the project. “I have learnt that there is no right or wrong in creativity and with this vision I invite you to take on this journey with me to title what is yet to be named.” Being at the end of the 365 days we can look back and see the growth and absolutely magical works Zhong was able to create and will continue to create carrying on with her career.
